After less than a week working for Batavia Enterprises Real Estate, LLC (BERE, LLC) Inger Britt was able to help Anderson Animal Shelter, a local non-profit, find a much-needed space. BEI Properties and BERE, LLC have been partnering with local non-profits, charities and giving back, within the community for over 55 years. Inger is no stranger to volunteering and her passion for helping animal rescues has been ongoing for years, in the past she has served as a board director for Anderson Animal Shelter.
Inger Britt, Broker, Batavia Enterprises Real Estate, LLC (BERE,LLC)Anderson Animal Shelter was able to find a new home and extra space for their administrative operations in the Cedar Avenue Business Center in St. Charles, IL. This historic building dates back to the early 1900’s, and is a beautiful example of the saying, “They don’t build them like they used to.” Once the home of Operadio Globe Music Company, the building was bought in 1976 and continues to transform today making it a one-of-a-kind property in St. Charles. Anderson Animal Shelter will find great company with their neighbors and other businesses renting space in Cedar Avenue, from startup businesses, to established companies, Cedar Avenue Business Center has been able to fit many needs with office and industrial spaces available from 145 to 2,900 square feet.
“We are extremely grateful to BEI, Properties for their support of Anderson Animal Shelter, and we’re excited to have administrative offices in the St. Charles community” said Beth Drake-Foster the Executive Director of Anderson Animal Shelter.

Anderson Animal Shelter has been saving lives and serving the Fox Valley region for more than 50 years. The shelter was incorporated in 1966 as the Humane Society of North Central Illinois. In 1971, their shelter opened its doors on five acres of land along Route 31 in South Elgin, IL. After a generous donation in 1980’s the name was changed to Anderson Animal Shelter. Since then they have been able to expand their adoption centers to add two new spaces in North Aurora and Bloomingdale.
Anderson Animal Shelter receives no federal and state funding. They rely on and appreciate the generosity of their adopters, staff, volunteers, foster caregivers, community members and businesses to support the life-saving mission. Improving the lives of pets and people through service, education and advocacy is the mission Anderson Animal Shelter’s staff and volunteers support, to ensure every pet is happy and healthy. In 2016 over 3,300 dogs, cats and critters were cared for which was an increase in over 800 animals from the prior year. That same year it was reported that volunteers dedicated over 30,000 hours of service to the animals of Anderson Animal Shelter.
BEI Properties is thrilled to be a proud community partner and sponsor for Anderson’s 2018 events. BEI Properties will be a sponsor of the Dogleg Open Golf Outing in June, Pets-a-Palooza pet festival in September and their Gala fundraiser, A Night to Paws in November.
