BEI Commercial Real Estate Teams Up with Batavia United Way for the 2021 Holiday Adopt a Family Program
Once again BEI Commercial Real Estate has teamed up with the not-for-profit organization Batavia United Way to provide a space for their 2021 Holiday Adopt-A-Family program.
Located at 160 First Street in Batavia, Batavia United Way has set up the donations they have received from the community in order for needy families to collect presents, food, gift cards, stockings and even poinsettias for their families. All donations come from local businesses, the Batavia Fire Department, donation drives and private parties. Not only from Batavia, but people have reached out from all over the Fox Valley and beyond to help ensure needy families have a happy holiday.
Every year, Batavia United Way partners with BPS 101 to identify families in crisis or those who are struggling and in need of assistance to provide Christmas for their children. There are several ways to get involved including adopting a family, providing Christmas stockings or sponsoring a bag filled with non-perishable necessities. BPS staff work with the select families to complete wish lists for each child and Sponsors will shop from these lists. Batavia United Way begins assigning families as wish lists are completed and available to us with the goal of having all families assigned by Thanksgiving. In 2020, 142 families were adopted which includes over 300 kids of all ages.
BEI Commercial Real Estate not only provided the 160 First Street space for donations to be picked up, but also a space for them to organize all of the donations they received, at 135 First Street. BEI Commercial Real Estate has a long history of donating vacant space to organizations in order to help support the community, especially around the holidays.
